Top Things To Do In Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan is a small island off the southeast coast of the main island of Bali. Quickly becoming one of Bali's most popular attractions, this island paradise is a world away from the hassle and hectic pace of South Bali. Neither hawkers nor traffic mar the magnificent scenery; this is a fine place to just put your feet up and relax. Main activities include surfing, diving and snorkeling. The water is some of the clearest you will find anywhere, and a vivid aqua blue in colour.

 Here are our top things to do in Nusa Lembongan.

1. Do A Snorkelling Trip

 

This island is well known for many great spots.
Go on a tour early morning starting at Nusa Penida, where you can swim with Mantra Rays, then continue across choppy waters to Nusa Ceningan and swim in the lagoon.
Later, go back to Lembongan and just 20+ meters offshore discover beautiful underwater life. With crystal blue calm water, the reef is full of life and well worth the money (300-800 000IDR depending on your negotiation skills).

2. Visit Mangrove Forest


The forest is unique, and you can spot some beautiful birds if you are quiet enough.
There is a small entry fee to get to the Mangrove Forest road, but that’s only 30-50 000 depending on the person standing at the entrance.

3. Go across the bridge to Nusa Ceningan


Travel south-east to discover half way through a bridge, which will take you across to island next door. Turn right do go around and check out the beaches or left to get on top of the mountain.
The road isn’t the best one, and it takes some skill to not to crash the moped. We had some close calls on the rocks that are just lying on the road and seem to be part of it.
When in Nusa Ceningan take your time to wander around as it took us two separate trips to find some isolated spots and the Blue Lagoon Cliff Jump place.

4. Discover best beaches of Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan has many hidden beaches where you can relax and swim in warm blue waters.

One thing not to miss on Nusa Lembongan. The Sunset over Bali is awe-inspiring, and can be viewed from any west facing part of the island, but the beach at Jungut Batu is especially popular. A more rural alternative is to go over the bridge to Nusa Ceningan and view the sunset from one of the west-facing high ridges. Being just a few degrees south of the equator, sunset times do not vary much throughout the year here. Look to be in place between 17:30 and 18:00.

Don't miss it, visit seaweed farming at Nusa Lembongan Heading westwards from the Lembongan Village and then following the roads along the coast, you will find a range of green and blue seaweed farming.  The seaweed farming is separated by some ropes and little posts where the algae are tied up on it to grow. Since the mid-1980s, nearly all the community lives off seaweeds, which are exported to the rest of Asia for the cosmetic and food industry. Went around the entire island, saw about different beaches, Nusa Ceningan island is good view to see, Dream beach is nice for relax with a great bar / cafe, Mushroom beach is also nice and snorkeling is ok too.

Melaspas is an Indonesia ritual cleansing and purification of buildings recently completed or newly reoccupied, including a rumah (home), kantor (office), toko (shop), kandang (stables) and others. Beautiful Coral Reef Euphyllia Baliensis

Euphyllia baliensis is a new large polyp stony coral with extremely thin branches, only found in 27 meters below sea level at Bali, First found in 2011.   We all had a good look at the new  Euphyllia baliensis  with the huge announcement from Conversation International in Spring of 2011 but now the new coral has a name, and a whole lot more details on what makes this coral special. Hailing only from a limited range in Bali,  Euphyllia baliensis  has extremely thin branches, which are well spaced out like a classic branching hammer coral, Euphyllia parancora . Wherea s Euphyllia cristata previoudly had the smallest corallites of all the Euphyllia species, its 20-40mm (0.75 to 1.5 inch) corallites completely dwarf the thinner-than-a-pencil branches of Euphyllia baliensis which clock in at a miniscule 3mm – that’s an eighth of an inch!
